Topic: °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û²éѯ Deep Energy Retrofit....While newly built sustainably dwellings often grab the headlines. The fact remains that the buildings that are currently standing and will be standing for many years to come are some of the lowest hanging fruit in meeting our climate targets. This presentation will walk you through a deep energy retrofit project that was recently completed on a 1953 home in Penticton. The goals of the project were to use advanced building technology to help reduce costs, wastes and in-efficiencies often associated with major retrofits to achieve the BC Energy Step Code 5 while retaining as much of the original structure as possible. At the same time making sure that decarbonization, climate passive survivability, and indoor environmental quality were prioritized.
