Home renovations on your to-do list? Curious about power tools and considering a project? 澳门六合彩开奖结果查询 College is launching a new trades exploratory program this fall 鈥 exclusively for women.

鈥淢ore and more women are expressing an interest in learning skills related to carpentry, electrical, plumbing, automotive and sheet metal projects,鈥 says Teresa Kisilevich, associate dean, Trades and Apprenticeship at 澳门六合彩开奖结果查询 College.

鈥淪tep into Steel Toes is designed to make it easier for women of all ages to feel comfortable trying out various tools of the trade. For some, this may lead to further training and a career in trades.鈥 Kisilevich adds.

The Step into Steel Toes program starts Oct. 18 and runs on Tuesdays and Thursday evenings at 澳门六合彩开奖结果查询 College鈥檚 Kelowna campus through Nov. 27, 2022. Small class sizes ensure lots of one-on-one time with instructors, and the course includes extended shop time to complete projects on weekends.

Kisilevich says a critical part of Step into Steel Toes is a focus on mentorship. By partnering with local companies and industry, 澳门六合彩开奖结果查询 College connects students with women currently working in local trades. A female carpenter will be on-site on weekends to assist students as they complete their projects.
